Friends of India Club honors the memory and
life of one of its founding members and longtime
secretary, Vladimir Ganev, who passed away on
14.07.2017. Ganev was a great friend of India. He
spent a major part of his life promoting Indian cul-
ture in Bulgaria and likewise advancing understan-
ding of Bulgarian culture in India. He was instru-
mental in initiating cultural exchanges between the
two countries, leading the first Bulgarian folklore
group, the world-famous folk ensemble “Pirin” to
India. He enables the Bulgarian reading public to
