Languages and Cultures of SU.
On May 30th, 2013, in the session hall of
the National Library Dr. Stefaniya Dimitrova
delivered lecture 29 of the FIC’s Lectoria on the
subject “Psychology of Mythology: The Pantheon
of Hinduism“. Madara Foundation was a co-
organizer.
On October 7th, 2013, an exhibition of
the collections “Sacred India” and “Historical
Landscapes from India” of the Indian
photographer Amit Pasricha was inaugurated
at the Sofia University’s Alma Mater Gallery. It
was organized in cooperation with the Cultural
Centre of SU, the Indology Department of SU
and the Embassy of India and was dedicated
to the 30th anniversary of the Indology
Department. Popular Bulgarian journalist
Simeon Idakiev introduced the exhibition.
Ambassador Manchanda, the Director of the
Cultural Centre of SU Prof. Aleksandar Kyosev,
the Director of the Centre for Eastern Languages
and Cultures and Vice President of FIC Prof.
Alexander Fedotoff and the Head of Classical
East Chair Prof. Milena Bratoeva addressed the
gathering. The exhibition was on till October
18th and attracted considerable interest.
On October 31st, 2013, guest-lecturer from
India at SU Dr. Jayalakshmi gave a talk on
“Diwali in South India“ in Hall 1 of the Centre for
Eastern Languages and Cultures on the occasion
of the festival.
On November 26th, 2013, art-historian
Plamena Dimitrova-Racheva delivered lecture
30 of the FIC’s Lectoria on the subject “Boris
Georgiev and India“. It was held in the session
hall of the National Library and was dedicated
to the 125th birth anniversasy of the prominent
Bulgarian artist.
