Tamil Nadu is one of the most distinctive
and memorable regions of India. It is a land
where traditions date back to thousands of
years ago, abounding in monuments, temples,
national parks and offering unique manifesta-
tions of culture, music and art. With an area of
about 130, 000 sq km and population over 70
million, Tamil Nadu is the second-largest state
economy in India in GDP and has a leading role
in many spheres, relating to the economy of the
country – it has one of the largest spinning and
tourism industries in India and is renowned
for its long-standing traditions in car manufac-
turing. The splendour of Tamil temple towns
is overwhelming, the relics of Mahabalipuram Храмът Шри Екамбаранатхар в Канчипурам
and Kanchipuram – mesmerizing. There is the
southernmost tip of India where three seas min-
gle as well as cool forest-clad wildlife-prowled Нос Коморин (Канякумари)
hill-stations like Kodaikanal and Ooty.
